Day 2 Bourke - Quilpie 657km

I woke at 4:00am as it was very cold 11 deg, tried to get a bit more sleep but by 5:30 it was time to get up and have a shower to warm up.

By the time we had some breaky we were on the road at 7:40 as we had a way to go today and we will be meeting up with Kerry & Neville.

The road is a bit bumpy today which is making it very hard to type, a lot of dead kangaroos on this road to Cunnamulla.

We are now in Outback Queensland

We arrived in Cunnamulla at 10:30 filled up with fuel as we came into town.  I took a photo of the Warrego River as we drove across it.  We stopped just out of town to have some morning tea and a break from the car.

Once in Eulo we decided to stop and take a photo of the pub and have a quick chat.  Lots of Emu’s in this part of the outback QLD.

Not far out of Toompine there was sections of road works even a red light to stop the traffic (who would have thought you would get that out here).

Lunch at Toompine Pub with Robin & Pete

Arrived in Quilpie 3:00pm found the caravan park and met up with Kerry & Neville.  After setting up we wald around town nothing open except a community shop doing some silk painting for a show in Sept.
Looked in a couple of opal shops did not buy anything.

In the night we had booked into have dinner at the Mukkatukkakitchen  (which was some guy and his wife cooking a roast in camp ovens in a fire pit).  Very good and the entertainment was good the boys had to join the band.  Maybe we should leave them here to earn some money.
