Trephina Gorge - Alice Day 6

Wednesday 8th August

Today we did not have to get up early as we only had about 70k until we arrived in Alice.

Made some breaky at our leisure and then we had a walk on the Trephina Gorge walk which ran around the top of the Gorge.

Quite spectacular as you could see a long way into the horizon and it went for ever.

We came across this little dove and it looked as though someone had glued it to the rock as it would not move the whole time we took photos of it so we left it and went on.

The gum trees grow out of the rocks and anything and they are just lovely.

When we arrived at the bottom we had to cross the little bit of was that was there and try and not get our feet wet, so off we go.  The boy’s were mucking around though as they do.

Just before we left that park we called into see the oldest Ghot Gum in the NT.

When we left there we called into Corroboree Rock had some morning tea and took the 15min walk around the rock which was good and we found some flowering gums to take a photo of.

Next stop Emily & Jessie Gaps to see the rock carvings.

Time to head to Alice and the caravan park arrived there about 12:30; the Kynoch’s were already there set up and having lunch. So after we all set up camp we had a quick lunch before heading down the shops for a walk and a look around.

The crowd we have so far

That night we book at the overlander’s steakhouse for dinner which was very nice
